The Blogger Recognition Award

These past months of writing and posting on my blog, have been great and have just got even better. As you can tell by the title I have been nominated for a further award, the Blogger Recognition Award.

I was nominated by Mary Matchy Blog for the award, which was so sweet! Thank you for the nomination and make sure you go and check out her blog.

The idea behind this award is for bloggers to recognise other bloggers for their creative content. Its important that bloggers are giving recognition, no matter what size audience a blogger has. This award like all the others, helps to build a positive and supportive community.

How my blog started?

For over a year I wanted to set up a blog and start writing, but was not confident enough, I thought who would even want to read my blog? After reading some of the bloggers who inspire me, made me push myself to set it up. I officially went live in June. However, it took me a couple of months to actually pluck up the courage to actually most anything. My first post was published 6th August 2017, just over 4 months and I have been loving it. I have had great support from other bloggers and I am so grateful. I have made some great blogging friends and excited to put out more content in 2018.

Advice I would give to new bloggers

Research/read as many blogs as you can – You should read lots of blogs and research the best place to host your blog or the best website to use. The layout you would like to use, how you want to take photographs e.g.. phone/camera.

Ask for support and advice – Do not be afraid to ask other bloggers for advice or support if you need it. There are plenty of active and engaging bloggers who are always willing to help and support each other. I have been luckily enough to surround myself with some lovely people.

If you haven’t already, set up a Twitter or a Facebook account – Social media is a great place to be able to connect with other bloggers and share your blog content and build a strong community.

Do not pay too much attention to your stats to start off with – Even the biggest bloggers started from somewhere and as long as your are enjoying it, that is the most important thing.

Other tips:

  • Write what you want to write about, not what you think people want. Your writing should have passion.
  • Planning ahead always helps
  • Link where needed
  • Always write it down when inspiration comes to you
