I cannot believe that we are already into Autumn. This year is just flying by. Autumn is such an enjoyable season with so many colours, activities and events that happen during these months. I love to enjoy and immerse myself in the fall season; making a fall bucket list is always a fun thing to do with your loved ones.
Unfortunately, this year I will not be able to do a lot of activities I would usually do because of my current situation with my knee injury as the pain can be too much. This year hasn’t been the easiest for me, having my work accident and then having to attend physiotherapy and electric muscle therapy. However, I can still enjoy things like movie nights, lighting autumnal scented candles and enjoying my mum’s homemade comfort foods.
There are lots of reasons why Autumn can be a wonderful season of the year. Here are 10 reasons why I love Autumn:
1. Autumn Fashion
When the Autumn weather is here in comes the Autumn fashion trends. There are so many Autumnal colours come in and I love wearing those colours. I love the colder weather because of cosy jumpers, big hoodies and lots of layers which are a must. I love wearing comfortable clothes and being cosy, so this season is good for me.
2. School Holiday
During the Autumn season, we have October half term. I love the school holidays because one of my younger sisters is still in school; it means that we get to spend quality time together. As younger siblings grow up so quickly, it’s important to me to spend lots of time together. So we always try and spend quality time together and make so many new memories.
3. Comfort Foods
When the weather is colder and it starts to get darker outside earlier you just want warming food. Comfort foods are delicious; they are homemade, wholesome food recipes that are perfect for darker and colder evenings. Comfort foods like stews, casseroles and soups make great family dinners. I love those recipes! Some of my favourites are: lamb or beef stew, butternut squash soup and beef casserole with mashed potatoes.
4. Crisp And Cold Weather
Autumn weather is far crisper and fresher, which makes me feel good when being outside although I have to be careful these days as it affects my pain levels. However, it’s good weather to enjoy walking and hiking which improves both your physical and mental health.
5. Nature’s Colours
I have always enjoyed being outside since I was younger and I like to see how nature changes and the beautiful shade of colour. Autumn is an ideal time of year to take photographs with family, friends and loved ones. Autumn brings such warm and vibrant colours into nature that can make scenic walks or hikes really enjoyable.
6. It Means We Are Closer To Christmas
Yes, I said Christmas in Autumn! I love Christmas and the build up to Christmas. I love Christmas and being around all my family; it is quality time that I always appreciate. So, when Autumn starts, it is that extra reminder that Christmas is coming and more reasons to get excited.
7. More Hot Chocolate!
I can be quite fussy about a hot chocolate and I only tend to drink more hot chocolate in the Autumn and Winter. When the weather is cold, I like to drink more hot drinks and go-to is ether tea or hot chocolate. It is always a delicious and warming treat to enjoy a hot chocolate with cream and marshmallows. Go big or go home right?
8. Pretty Walks
Autumn colours can make taking walks locally or in nature reserves more enjoyable. It can be great to have a picnic, or enjoy a hot drink, on a bench, in the fresh air. It can be a great way to get your daily exercise and also enjoy the feeling of being in nature and feeling grounded.
9. Burning Autumnal Candles
I love how many different candles you can get with so many different scents to choose from. Candles can make a space really calming and relaxing, so Autumn and Winter is a great time of year to light candles. It can add to a great atmosphere for a cosy night in. There are so may awesome Autumnal scents that will boost the Autumn vibes. One of my favourites in Yankee Candle Cosy Up.
10. Cosy Nights In
Unfortunately, Autumn in the UK can be rainy which creates the perfect atmosphere for a cosy night in with loved ones. Watching Autumnal themed movies and eating yummy snacks whilst wearing your favourite pyjamas or lounge wear can be the perfect way to spend an entire weekend! With my injury this unfortunately is how I have been spending a lot of my weekends.
These are just some of the reasons why I enjoy the Autumn months. Do you want to get more out of the Autumn season? Check out the 90 activities you should have on your Fall Bucket List.
