I loved The Greatest Showman and so when tickets went on pre-sale on o2 priority for Hugh Jackman’s tour, I knew I wanted needed to go! My whole family love The Greatest Showman, we even went to see it at the cinema for Mothers Day (my mum wanted to see it for the 3rd time ha ha!)
The show was with a live orchestra with hit songs from The Greatest Showman, Les Misérables, The Boy from Oz and more broadway and film.
My mum, two younger sisters and I travelled to London, my poor mum even travelled with a broken foot. We booked into a lovely Travelodge in Greenwich, we chose this hotel because it was close to the O2. The hotel was lovely and the staff were so polite and helpful.
Hugh Jackman did not have a support act, so it meant the whole show was him performing which was so much better than other concerts! He obviously needed a little break, so there was a 20 minute interval. You don’t usually have a huge amount of time with the performers so this show was so refreshing.
Hugh Jackman’s voice was incredible and his dancing was so impressive! He shared personal stories of his childhood, growing up and his family. The way he spoke about his wife Deb was beautiful, sharing pictures of them together and he dedicated a song to her. His mum was even in the audience that evening. He really engaged the audience, it was such a heart warming experience. He brought a couple onto stage too and had a press up competition, it was so funny!
Keala Settle who stared in The Greatest Showman as the bearded lady toured with him and she sang “This is me“. Her voice was absolutely incredible! She had the whole arena captivated by her voice.
Mishay Petronelli was the dance captain and she so good! The choreography was so entertaining, they also had dance routines that incorporated sign language for the lyrics as Hugh sang. I thought this was so amazing, I never been to a show or concert where they have done this.
Hugh also brought onto the stage Olive Knight who is not only a Blue’s singer but also raises awareness in politics and around the world the dangers and struggles of the Indigenous community. It was inspiring to hear the positive impact she had made and continues to make on the world. It was so uplifting!
I was dancing, clapping and cheering with some songs and then tearing up at points in other songs. Even though there were songs I didn’t recognise, his voice was incredible and made it so entertaining to listen too. This show is the best show I have been too in the longest time!
Have you seen The Greatest Showman? What is one of your favourite musicals? I’d love to hear in the comments.

Oh my goodness, I’m not really into musicals (please say we can still be friends) but I might have to make an exception for this one. Flora’s school did a version of TGS last summer and it was AMAZING. Real foot tapping and sing along stuff, super powerful. I can only imagine how fabulous this concert must have been for you and your famly, especially your mum (!), I’m so glad you had such a lovely time and thank you for sharing your experience 🙂 Lisa xx

I don’t like many musicals The Greatest Showman, Grease and high school musical 😂. Maybe a couple of others but I don’t watch loads. The greatest showman was on another level, you should watch it. The show was incredible easily one of the best shows I have been too! Thank you for reading and commenting Lisa xx

That is so beyond cool that you got to see Hugh Jackman in Concert. I actually saw The Boy From Oz years ago when he was on Broadway in it. He was so amazing in that show. I still haven’t seen The Greatest Showman yet, I gotta get on that already. I hear it’s really good. I’ve seen Keale Settle in a few shows. Amazing performer.
My all time favorite musical has got to be The Wedding Singer. Saw it five times on Broadway, probably would have been more if it didn’t close.
Glad you had such a great time at the show!
