  1. I’ve definitely realised that Twitter can be a blogger’s best friend! I think my blog would be on 0 traffic if I hadn’t discovered blogger RT accounts. I also love it for engaging with the blogging community too, it’s so supportive and I’ve made some lovely friends.

I’ve only just started using Pinterest too, but I’ve yet to join any groups so I need to get on that!

  2. Thanks for these tips – you have given me some new ideas for how to promote my blog! I also use Twitter, Instagram and Pinterest but I still have a lot to learn about all three of them! For example I tend to completely forget about using hashtags!

    1. I still have lots to learn, but thought I would share what has been working well for me. Oh hashtags especially on twitter and instagram are so effective! Thank you for reading and commenting x

  3. I don’t use Twitter and find it a struggle keeping up with IG. It takes away from my tendency to spend my time offline. Honestly, the only “social media” I use is WordPress. I use the reader which has worked very well for me. However, consistency is still something I’m struggling with so it’s hard for me to engage with people each and every day. I’m on vacation for a couple of weeks without WiFi so my traffic has been next to nothing.

      1. I only get traffic if I’m active online. That’s the downside of only relying on WordPress or other platforms that require real-time engagement.😅 Its a lot of work being online all the time, and I’m really feeling it not having access to WiFi these days. At least I can spend more time in the great outdoors and reconnect with nature! 🌻🌻🌻

      2. I’m not banking on it! LOL this is a hobby for me – it’s sad to see bloggers get discouraged that they aren’t monetizing yet… meanwhile these bloggers only just started a few months ago. I hope they don’t give up because they feel discouraged. Blogging is definitely not the way to get rich fast, but it does pay off in the long run if they keep at it!

  4. I tend to alternate between platforms, FB, Twitter, iG & Pinterest. As although I really enjoy interacting, I can find it incredibly tiring. So can’t spend too long on them. Snails pace here. And iG # s take me forever, lol. But I have connected with such lovely folk & I do miss them when I’m taking a break.

  5. I really struggle with social media. I’ve decided against twitter as I find it too fast paced and just can’t keep up. I do like instagram because I’m mainly a food and beauty blogger and love taking photos that’s where I mostly feel at home. I don’t really care about growth on there. I use it to find tips of new places to eat and the new beauty products out there. I use it because I like it not to grow or get traffic from if that makes sense lol.
Great post! Thanks for sharing xx

  6. Great tips! What I’ve learnt so far is that comment threads are soooo useful on Twitter, as well as posting and retweeting regularly. Instagram I’m still learning about but there’s lots of simple things that make a difference on there such as correct hashtags and using highlights, and I’ve been told it’s important to use all of the features and not just one or two. For Pinterest I make multiple pins per post and pin daily, always pinning new pins to around 10 or more group boards – apparently Tailwind is amazing for that! As for Facebook… I have no idea, it’s my least successful of all social media accounts and I just don’t get the science behind it! I consistently get about 2 likes and sometimes 1 comment per post and that’s it…

    1. Facebook for me isn’t great, I have a page for my blog but always forget about it and find it hard to engage with others! Ooo use all them, I have done some highlights I might have to try and use them more. I’ve heard a lot about tailwind as well. Thank you for reading and leaving your tips in the comments xx

  7. Thanks for the tip on the “bloggers share” hashtag for insta! I love Twitter though I do worry I spend too much time tweeting and not enough time writing! I have just barely dipped my toes into Pinterest, still figuring that one out.

  8. There are some really good tips here! Twitter is definitely where I get the most traffic from but it can be hard to be active all the time alongside work. I cannot wrap my head around pinterest at all even though I use it myself for things out with my blog.

  9. I have a hard time keeping up with social media (Twitter, IG, Pinterest) too. I guess, my fave is Twitter because I love the comment threads. IG can be a bit frustrating. Thanks for the tips! I’ll remember to #bloggershare next time.

  10. I could really relate to this post! My go-to is Twitter as I find it so easy to engage and people are welcoming but I keep hearing the same things about IG being harder to conquer. I’m on Pintrest but don’t know what I am doing over there! It’s a bit time consuming.

  11. I use twitter and Pinterest the most. Instagram doesn’t seem to help much, and I’m just learning Facebook. I tend to stick with what works instead of spending a ton of time on something that isn’t helping.

  13. Thanks for sharing these social media tips! I found being engaging actually helps rather than being super spammy. I haven’t really promoted with Instagram yet, seen others having success with it. Pinterest has so much potential, especially with the platform making it easier for others to scroll through and find your content anytime rather than a point in time. Thanks for sharing!

  15. Pinterest is actually where I struggle the most with getting views!! Instagram tends to be a hit or miss for me but I use it more for personal than I do my blog so the lack of views/likes doesn’t bother too much at times, haha. Thanks for this!

  16. Twitter is my favorite platform for promoting my blog. Even though it has been hard for me to gain traction. I will try your tips though. Instagram for me is more of an influencer platform. While Pinterest I barely touched.

  17. Don’t forget the beauty of scheduling posts across those platforms – it eliminates the need to be actively online all the time in order to succeed

  18. I’m terrible at keeping up with social media! These are some useful tips, though. I’m still kind of new to Instagram. What is a pod?

  20. these are SUCH good tips lauren. social media is such a great place for us to promote our work and have it reach a wider audience. I wish instagram would allow you to link in actual posts rather than just in bio that way you don’t have to limit the amount of exposure a post gets from instagram if you happen to post multiple blog posts a week. xx

  21. I am helping my wife promote her vlog in her different social media. She has facebook, instagram and twitter. She has the lowest interaction with twitter, and has found moderate success with instagram.

For instagram, use hashtags. I learned that there are certain hashtags that you must always use to make your posts visible, specially to others in the same field.

These tips are very helpful. Thank you very much!

  22. I love Twitter, it’s where most of my traffic comes from and I enjoy interacting with other bloggers. My Instagram is mostly for my personal photos or nature themed ones, so I haven’t used it for my blog much. I do struggle with Pinterest!
