Living in Bournemouth for 19 years I am always happy when I find or I am told about somewhere new, a hidden gem! Bournemouth West Cliff Hotel is definitely one of those!
The Bournemouth West Cliff Hotel is situated in the town centre on Durley Chine Road. I was invited by them to experience their Sunday brunch. I was so excited and thought this was the perfect way to spend my Sunday afternoon with my mum and littlest sister.
My family and I were welcomed by the lovely receptionist and walked to the restaurant, where we were greeted by the Maître D Sam and seated. Sam explained the menu options to us and where we could find the buffet options.
As you can see from the menu, you can have food from the buffet or have dishes made from the kitchen.
I ordered my starter from the kitchen and had toasted crumpets with streaky bacon and smoked cheddar cheese. I never thought about this combination on a crumpet before, but it was delicious. The cheese sauce was so flavourful and the perfect accompaniment.
There was a selection of mains at the buffet station.
For my main I decided on the buffet and chose the chicken with mushrooms, roast potatoes and vegetables. The chicken was succulent and the mushrooms added extra flavour. The roast potatoes were cooked to perfection. The perfect Sunday roast.
They had a wide selections of desserts and they looked so tasty that I had to have more than one ha ha! I chose a slice of the vanilla cheesecake and I made my own waffle with their waffle maker. The vanilla cheesecake was so light and the creamiest cheesecake I think I have ever tasted. It was delicious and could have definitely eaten another slice. The waffle was so good. We were able to make it ourselves. The waffle maker was easy to use and there was so many toppings. I chose to be a plain jane and just have maple syrup on mine.
I always find the atmosphere in a restaurant has a big influence on whether or not you enjoy your meal. During our meal the hotel had live entertainment. The Mellor Sisters were singing and they had beautiful voices. The music wasn’t too loud and complimented the experience so well.
I was very impressed with how clean everything was, it was something my mum and I noticed when walking through the hotel to the restaurant. The restaurant area has big open windows so it was light and we were able to still enjoy the sun.
The staff were so attentive and sweet. We were all so welcomed into the hotel and checked on throughout our meal. Whilst dining I could see how Sam was paying extra attention to all of the guests and making sure they were enjoying themselves.
Bournemouth West Cliff Hotel offers brunch every Sunday 12pm until 3pm. Once a month they have live Jazz/Swing music. For brunch, adults are charged at £14.95 and children at £6.95. Adults are given a free glass of fizz and children are given a free milkshake. How great is that? Bournemouth West Cliff Hotel is definitely a venue in Bournemouth you will need to visit. The ideal place for affordable elegant dining.
I want to say a massive thank you to Tony, Sam and Nikki for having my mum, sister and I for brunch. We all had a lovely time.
Have you ever visited Bournemouth West Cliff Hotel? What would you have picked from this menu? I’d love to hear in the comments.
