May Bullet Journal Spread

Oh my goodness, it is so good to be back! I had to take a very immediate break from my blog and social media as I was extremely poorly. I have been on bed rest for over a week to avoid going to hospital. Trying to completely stop and rest I actually found really hard ha ha! I am so glad to be back on social media and my blog, I am of course taking it slow, but I have missed talking with you all.

I don’t know about you but I felt that April lasted for so long, I am happy to be back sharing my spread in my bullet journal for May. I wanted to make my spread bright especially as we have had some beautiful weather. I think this is one of my favourite spreads I have created.

I love how bright this front cover is! I have always wanted to do a bumble bee theme, I think it is so cute! So when Bexa sent me some bumble bee washi tape in our swap box, I knew I wanted to incorporate it into this design. I love layering washi tapes to add texture to the page.

For my habit tracker this month I decided to keep my habits super focused. As we are still in lockdown some of my regular habits are not important at the moment. I also decided to group certain habits together as they go hand in hand. I used one of my skinny washi tapes to decorate the spread and I used the orange and colours to match the theme. I love how bright and summery this spread feels.

This spread is always one I will include, I find it so useful to track my blog statistics, to see where I am progressing and where I may need to invest more time. I enjoyed designing different lettering. I love how bold the black looks against the lighter colours on the page.

I didn’t include a mood tracker for April as I didn’t think there was much point during lockdown. However, I missed filling one in and I do find it useful to track my mood over the month. I love how this looks and I think it will look awesome when it is completed. I kept the moods specific.

This idea is so useful in helping me post consistently over on my Instagram. Apart from a couple of days where I haven’t been well, I have continuously posted. Using a plan like this helps me stay organised and it means I have enough content to use on my grid. I have been really loving Instagram and I love how my grid looks. Are we Instagram friends?

I really enjoyed designing this set up and I am really happy with how it turned out. I am so grateful to be feeling well enough to share this with you. I want to say a massive thank you for all the lovely kind comments and to the awesome Steff for my lovely gifts to cheer me up. Make sure you are following her too! I hope you are all staying safe!

Have you set up your bullet journal for May? What theme have you used?I’d love to hear in the comments.

  1. This looks great! I’ve got a bee theme going for May as well, got to love the happy colours ☺️
I haven’t got a blog tracker going yet as I’ve only just started my blog but do you find it helps to keep things organised? If so what would you definitely include?
    Hope you’re feeling better!

  2. Hi Lauren, I’m glad you’re feeling a little better now. I love your bumblebee theme for May and it looks so bright and colourful. I went for a succulents theme for mine and used a little book of stickers so that there wasn’t so much hand drawing to be done!

  3. I love the ‘honeycomb’ patterns. I was obsessed with shapes like this last year and painted my office wall to suit!
I wish I could maintain bullet journaling but I’m too much of a perfectionist and give up fairly quickly lol.

    1. Oh Bexa! You shouldn’t have! You are so bloody sweet! I am still on bed rest but was able to put this up. Before falling asleep for 3/4 hours and then again later. So having to do it in small bursts. Just glad I have been able to talk with everyone. Thank you lovely xxxx❤️

  5. I love your spread for May, I am a sucker of bee-related stuff! Great idea about tracking your Instagram posts, I am terrible at posting super consistently on there so this would help so much!
Also glad to hear you are feeling better, and hope you are fully on the mend!

  6. Ooh, the little hexes remind me of honeycomb, which reminds me of bees, which make me think of spring leading into summer! I love the milder golden tones you have picked for this month, as well as the changes you have made in response to changes in the world.

I am so, so happy to hear you are feeling better!

  7. I’m absolutely rubbish at my bullet journal – I got as far as writing down five goals that I want to achieve and that’s it. I wish I had your skill at making these look so gorgeous because this one is beautiful!

      1. It’s alright. I had asked if you would have liked to take part in a discussion on my first launched newsletter like a few other pages did but it was scheduled for the 6th of May! If you’d like to take part in the next month’s newsletter, you can let me know here 🙂

  9. Ah, welcome back, lovely, I’m so pleased you’re feeling better and I LOVE your new May layout. That’s genius using the honeycombs for your trackers and Bexa’s washi tape is beautiful. Like you, I felt April seemed to last forever, so I’m hoping May is an improvement on that, haha. Stay safe and well, Lauren, sending hugs, Lisa xxx

  12. Lauren,
Hey, you are allowed to listen to yourself and get your health back. Taking a break is great reminder that you are human. So happy that you are back with a bang!
I journal on-the-go and at the spur of a moment.
    Your bee theme communicates ‘happiness’/
You have an awesome plan working for you.
    Keep going!

  13. I never knew what a bullet journal was. This post made me go and Google what bullet journals are.
I like the bee honeycomb design you have used for Msy and I’d be interested to see what it looks like complete.
How did you do your headings? Did you do them by hand? What pen did you use?
