Veganism has enjoyed unprecedented growth in popularity thanks to well-known social media influencers and celebrities sharing their vegan lifestyle combined with the spotlight on environmental issues. This has encouraged people to evaluate what they are doing to both themselves as well as the planet, focusing their attention on reducing their carbon footprint as well as improving their overall health and well-being. As a result, more and more people are switching to cruelty-free, sustainable and vegan alternatives.
What is Veganism? What is Veganuary?
Veganism is the practice of eating only plant-based foods and any products which do not contain animal derivatives. Veganuary is an annual challenge (it’s been running since 2014) run by a non-profit organisation, which promotes and educates people about Veganism and how to adopt a vegan lifestyle for the month of January.
I am sharing a vegan series on my blog for this Veganuary and this post is going to show you the best vegan skincare products for sensitive skin. I will be sharing a range of brands that offer a variety of skincare products that are vegan but do not compromise on their quality and are still very affordable.
Samaya Ayurveda Skincare
Samaya Ayurveda is an all-natural brand, which is based on the Ayurverdic principles that enable you to achieve the perfect balance in your life. Sumaya curates authentic elements of Ayurveda, combining them with active ingredients and ant-ageing compounds. This brand provides a range of skincare through a holistic experience. In order to determine which ones are right for you, read the different doshas and then select the product.
Samaya has won numerous awards including winner of The Beauty Shortlist awards 2020. Find their products on their website and follow them on: Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.
Vata Hydrating Cleanser: This cleanser has been developed using rose, turmeric, tulsi, gotu kola and ashwagandha. It helps to remove make-up and lift impurities, leaving your skin feeling soft and looking more radiant.
I loved taking a short and simple questionnaire, which worked out the best product for my skin. The cleanser worked really well, easily removing my make-up and left my skin feeling super soft. With some cleansers, my skin can be left feeling dry and looking dull; however, my Vata cleanser leaves my skin glowing and looking brighter! I would definitely recommend this cleanser for people who suffer with dry skin.
Freya + Bailey
Freya + Bailey uses responsibly sourced ingredients and recyclable packaging, which makes this brand both environmentally-friendly as well as vegan. Moreover, the brand is part of a carbon-offset programme which involves planting 15 trees for every employee – a real commitment to the survival of the planet! They also donate a portion of their profit to a range of charitable causes; for example, those supporting the poorest in the community, or those supporting cancer patients to overcome their daily challenges. What a great example which other brands could follow!
You’ll find their range of amazing products on their website, or learn about upcoming new products and offers on: Facebook, Pinterest, Instagram.
Polish Night Cream: Containing Shea butter, Argan oil and hyaluronic acid, this night cream aids skin hydration whilst oat silk helps to gently exfoliate dead skin cells. The cream is enriched with anti-oxidants to protect and hydrate the skin. The Argan oil helps to reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.
It’s light and absorbed easily into my skin, leaving it feeling soft and smooth; this made a refreshing change as some night creams can leave your skin feeling greasy. I really noticed an improvement in the hydration of my skin, thanks to the Argan oil, which helped to nourish and protect my skin against the harsh winter winds!
Q+A Skin
Q+A skin are a British brand which produces all its products in Norfolk. They produce only clean, natural ingredients that are both vegan and sustainable. There is a range of products available on their website. You can find them on Facebook, Pinterest and Instagram.
Chamomile Night Cream: This product is known for its calming benefits and it can rejuvenate and rehydrate dull and tired-looking skin as well as improving your skin’s firmness.
Hyaluranic Acid Facial Serum: This serum is super-hydrating! It helps to boost the skin’s hydration and firmness. This calming serum also has anti-aging properties and is perfect for all skin types.
Niacinamide Daily Toner: This toner, which contains niacinamide, helps with inflammation, minimises the appearance of pores and calms redness. This product increases the skin’s hydration and has anti-ageing properties. This product is also suitable for all skin types.
Seaweed Peptide Eye Gel: Containing organic aloe vera and collagen building peptides, this gel helps to brighten your under eyes and leaves them feeling firmer. It’s not only hydrating, but also anti-ageing.
Liquorice Lip Oil: This lip oil has natural plumping properties that make your lips appear fuller. The oil improves moisturisation, skin firmness and elasticity. It is suitable for all skin types.
I love, love, love the packaging and how all the products have their own colour! These products left my skin feeling smooth and hydrated, which is paramount in the winter months! The oil has been incredibly useful, soothing my poor, chapped lips in the particular cold weather we’ve had of late. Q&A has a large range of products, but have made it super-easy on their website to help you find the ones that are right for you. Not only are they colour-coded for each specific product, but each product has a handy checklist, which tells you what the product does. This range is both suitable and affordable for everyone!
Estrid
Estrid is a vegan and cruelty-free brand, which offers a female-focused razor, containing no animal products in the hydrating strips. The starter kit includes: a steel handle, 2 cartridges and a wall mount; a much more sustainable option for shaving. They also offer other products to aid your shaving experience.
Shaving Cream: This shaving cream, like the other body products, is made in Sweden and is vegan. It’s made with: aloe vera, shea and Canola oil. Estrid can be found on Facebook and Instagram. Buy your starter kit and essentials on their website.
Wow! It’s creamy and smells amazing! The combination of the razor and the cream left my skin fuzz-free, smooth and… NO RAZOR BURN! This was a complete revelation for me and actually made my shaving experience an enjoyable one for a change!
These are just a range of Vegan alternatives out there for you to use and be kinder to the planet.
Have you used any of these brands before? I’d love to hear in the comments.
Wow all of these products sound amazing! I’ve been vegan for a year now but have been actively trying to use more vegan and CF products for a lot longer. ❤️
Definitely going to take a look at Q&A, love how they’re produced in the UK! A brand to watch out For definitely! 🤗😁
Thank you for your kind comments. The brands I have shared are definitely doing their part to help the environment and have luxury products for your skin. So glad you found this post useful. Please link a blog if you have one x
I am in love with that Q+A line, especially the seaweed eye gel. Too bad they have stopped shipping to EU but I can understand their choice. Will check if it’s available through an EU-friendly website. Great post all in all. Thank you for the vegan beauty ideas!
I hope it is available through another site. Try Holland and Barrett and maybe boots? Thank you for reading and commenting.
Thank you for the tips! We have both here in The Netherlands.
I love the sound of all of these brands. I’m trying to get the majority of my makeup and skincare down to CF products so will definitely have to check these out! Another fab brand are Green People, you should check them out if you haven’t already x
I have seen green people as well. Thank you for reading and commenting.
I love how there are many options for vegan (and sustainable) products as the years go by. I haven’t heard of any of these brands, but I do want to try Q + A skin – if their products are available in my country. Skincare is something I’m trying to improve on this year so I’ll definitely be keeping an eye out for these brands especially Q+A!
That’s great, good luck on your skincare journey! Thank you for reading and commenting.

I usually feel as though I’ve heard of a LOT of skincare brands, but almost all of these are brand new to me, minus Estrid. I’ll have to check them out further. Q&A sounds extra fantastic, and I love their minimal packaging.

I have never actually heard of Veganuary before, but I love the concept! Plant-sourced skincare is often clean and perfect for sensitive skin since it is usually devoid of the many artificial things that sneak into non-vegan products.
The polish cream looks amazing! I currently use a shea butter based face cream but it is always excellent to try something new when you run out of something old. Thanks for sharing!
I hope you manage to find something else you like in this list. Thank you for reading and commenting Jaya.
These all sound like great brands! Estrid is the only one that I’m familiar with already so I’ll have to check out the others x

Thank you for reading and commenting. I have Estrid razor and it is great and so much better than the disposable razors I was using.
I have never tried any of these products or any vegan skincare but these sound great. I think that making small changes in the products we buy that will help the planet, although small they can all make a big difference x

I haven’t used any of these brands before but have seen Estrid mentioned quite a bit and I am interested in trying them out. The Freya and Bailey products also look really good x
Vegan products can be skincare, period products (I have just shared this post). It is what animal derivatives are in things, candles and perfume too.
It will not let me comment.
I haven’t tried any of these products, but I’m definitely interested in learning more about them. I have recently started using the ZERO line of products. So far, so good! They are all-natural, plant-based and sold in sustainable packaging, while also being readily available here in Canada at our drug store.
They sound great. Can you link your blog?
These sound great! I am definitely going to check some of these out. Thanks so much for sharing!
