Whether you’re a blogger like me or enjoy any other creative endeavour, hitting a mental block will almost certainly happen at some stage. It can be immensely frustrating, especially if you do not know how to snap out of it.
Here are five top tips to help you rediscover your creative flair in style. While you might not need them all, there should be something for all creators.
Consume Creative Content
If you are not quite in the right frame of mind to create content, why not consume it instead? If you have a passion for film or music, for example, you’ll naturally enjoy these activities. Alternatively, if you’re a writer, reading these creepy books could be a great solution. Aside from the direct enjoyment you gain during this activity, there’s a chance that it will spark an idea for your next creative project.
At the very least, it will make you more motivated to get back into the swing of things.
Relax Your Mind
It’s hard to be creative when you’re stressed. So, finding a way to step back and get some positive hormones running through your body can work wonders. Geek Bars vapes can put you in a more relaxed frame of mind. Better still, it will often allow you to embrace your natural flair and creative thinking. Other creators may find that going for a run is the best solution as it releases feel-good endorphins.
Once you find an option that works for you, it can be used again and again.
Complete Your Daily Tasks
Stress isn’t the only issue that can limit your creative mindset. The knowledge that you still have daily chores to complete may stop you from feeling able to concentrate on your artistic endeavours. Whether it’s cleaning the home, sending an overdue work email, or any other task doesn’t matter. The sooner you get them done, the sooner you’ll free your mind to be creative without mental distractions.
In short, feeling organised and in control of your life can play a telling role.
Collaborate With Other Creatives
Often in life, simply being around creative people will inspire us to do more ourselves. There is a competitive desire to match them while their creative flow can rub off on you too. If you don’t have friends that share your passion, you can find others online. Platforms like Soundtrap can be very useful. Alternatively, simply talking and bouncing ideas off each other can unlock your creativity once more.
In some cases, it can lay the foundation for ongoing collaborative partnerships.
Force Yourself To Be Productive
When all else fails, it might be worth simply pushing yourself to create something. Whether it’s writing a few scenes of a script, playing a new hook for a song, or filming a vlog doesn’t matter. You may surprise yourself with the content you produce. Even if you don’t, there will come a moment when things click back into place. When it does, you will feel amazing and extra inspired to create something incredible.
Creative blocks are natural. Don’t let them rule your mind and you should be just fine.
Not been in that position yet, but good ideas to bear in mind for the future. Thanks Lauren. Hope you had a good New Year 😁
I find myself having creative blocks when I’m in my head too much. I get stuck trying to make it “perfect” and then spiral down to eventually stopping completely. Especially when it comes to writing blog posts! But what had helped me recently is relaxing to take time to do the things you love and working on the stress in my life. Great post!
I never actually thought of consuming similar content, but it’s actually genius – thanks for sharing Lauren!
Very insightful. Thank you. ♥️
Great ideas!
