Summer is here in full swing and with the hotter temperatures it is so important you stay safe. There are certain things you will need to not only stay safe but to ensure you feel the most comfortable and confident this Summer.
During the Summer months we all want to feel our best in the sun or on the beach. We all deserve it! There are certain essentials you are going to want to make sure you have in order to make it your happiest Summer yet.
Here are the top 5 essentials you need this Summer:
1. A swimsuit or bikini
Whether you are jetting off on holiday or stay at your local beach, you need to find the best swimsuit or bikini that makes you feel comfortable and fabulous.
Have you ever been on holiday or planning a day at the beach and then you end up starting your period? Has a period ever scuppered your Summer plans? Now it never has to again.
WUKA has a range of period swimwear that means you can feel confident knowing you can enjoy the sunshine, the pool or the sea without leaking. Their period swimsuit feels just like regular swimwear but has an ultra absorbent liner. I have used WUKA period pants and I love how comfortable they are, especially when my period is making me feel heavy. I love that I am never going to have a problem with a period ruining your holiday.
Sunscreen is an absolute must! You shouldn’t even consider a day in the sun without it. I am sure many of you like me want to get that sun-kissed tan, but it should never be at the expense of your skin’s health.
There are so many different sunscreen products for all skin types. I tend to choose a sunscreen that is either factor 30 or 50. It is important to regularly apply it, especially if you have been in the water.
It has always been drummed into us about how we must put sunscreen on at the beach, the pool or on a holiday. However, you should be wearing SPF daily as it protects you against harmful UVA and UVB rays. Never simply rely on a moisturiser or foundation with SPF in because it is watered down by other ingredients.
Find yourself a light SPF that you can wear under your make up.
3. The best razor
Summer to me has always been me trying to cover up my body, but in the lightest clothing so I didn’t overheat – too much! But this year one of my goals was to start stepping outside my comfort zone. So, I have actually brought several dresses and summery tops that I would usually avoid!
As I am now wearing more dresses and shorts I knew I needed to have hair-free legs and armpits, which is why I am using Estrid. I truly haven’t had a better shave than with my lovely Estrid razor. I said goodbye to razor burn and to disposable razors as I am working on reducing my plastic waste. I have the subscription service that I can pause anytime and that is delivered to my home.
Check out their range of colours and subscriptions that can be tailored to you!
Eye health is so vital and is something that should be a priority as much your skin’s health.
The most important benefit of wearing sunglasses is that they protect your eyes from ultraviolet (UV) light. As UV light can have harmful effects on the eyelid, cornea, lens and retina. They can aid in preventing certain eye diseases related to the sun.
5. A water bottle
We all know that not drinking enough water can cause problems related to dehydration. This is heightened in the sun.
Taking your favourite water bottle filled with water to help keep you cool. The great benefit of taking your own water bottle allows you to either fill it up for free or at a discount in cafes etc. This will also mean you are being more eco-friendly and reducing the plastic waste.
Always keep hydrated especially when you are spending long periods in the sun.
These are just some of my Summer essentials that I will always have or be using to ensure I have the best Summer this year. if like me you have hidden away in previous Summers, make this Summer the time you embrace the weather and your body.
What is one of your Summer essentials? Can you relate to any on my list? I’d love to hear in the comments.
