Fall is one of my favourite seasons which is the same for so many people. I love fall fashion, the comfort foods, the cozy vibes and the colours in nature.
As Autumn draws in, so do the darker evenings and the colder weather. I don’t know about you but this kind of weather makes me want to get all cozy indoors. The leaves are changing, the air is crisp and it is time to switch from the Summer to Fall. But are you wondering how you can make your home a cozy haven? I am sharing a few simple ways you can make your home feel and look cozy for Fall. Obviously, you can do one or all of them, small steps can bring a cozy vibe to your home.
These are 15 simple ways you can make your home cozy for Fall:
1. Burn candles
I mean I can burn candles any day of the year. However, it always feels cozy during the colder months. Whether you choose to burn a fresh or autumnal scent, having candles burning can be extremely relaxing. Candles create ambient lighting which can make any space cozy. I am looking forward to buying some very soon. I usually shop Yankee Candle and they have some new Autumnal scents.

2. Add or change your curtains
If you don’t have many curtains, you can add curtains by your front door or even at the bottom of your stairs. Furthermore, adding them can not only be a great way to keep heat in, but can make a space feel more homely.
Without a doubt, changing your curtains for a different colour or texture can completely change the feel of a room. This is a simple swap that can make a big impact in your room. We recently swapped our lounge curtains to a darker set and it has made our lounge feel so cozy and snug.
3. Decorate your mantle
Your mantle is a staple in your home and decorating it with autumnal accessories can really bring the Fall vibes into your home. You could decorate it with candles, pumpkins, fairy lights, spooky ornaments and much more.
4. Use fairy lights
Fairy lights can be the perfect way to bring in ambient lighting into a space. This tip is super affordable and can help you to create relaxing spaces in your home. Next you can embellish your fireplace with a delightful autumnal glow that’s mesmerising. You could even put together your favourite accessories like baskets and ornaments with candles and string lights. In addition you could string up around your tv, window or around furniture.
5. Add rugs
The colder weather is here and so an added layer of warmth under your feet will certainly put that cozy feel into your life as well as that it can also bring different textures into a space. There are so many rugs with designs that can add autumnal colours to any room in your home.
6. Change your bedding
Put away your light coloured sheets and Summer duvet and break out those flannel sheets, thicker duvets and some oversized throws. If you add a few accent pillows, it can make your bed look extra cozy and inviting. I want to invest in some fluffy bedding to help keep me warm and snuggly at night and early mornings.
7. Indulge in velvet
Velvet is well-suited for cozy autumn interiors. Opting for autumnal tones across your soft furnishings for a sure-fire way to create a warm and social living space with plenty of elegance, Moreover, you could use velvet cushions, throws or even curtains.

8. Use blankets and throws
Blankets and throws are perfect for adding some soft furnishings to your room, use them on the sofa, baskets or even on your bed. But they are definitely one of the best essentials for a cozy night in with tv and your favourite snacks. For me, when I am sat on the sofa or in bed I love my blankets around me, I feel super cozy and warm.
9. Change up your accent pillows
Pillows on your sofa is a simple way to add soft furnishings to a room to make it look more inviting. So changing the pillow covers to autumnal colours, patterns or designs can be an easy change to bring Fall and Halloween into your home.
10. Accessorize with board games and books
Personalize your coffee table or furniture by displaying board games and reading materials, this not only will remind people to slow down but also encourage people to connect. So, people are more likely to have discussions and interactions that doesn’t involve any electronics.
My family and I have always played board games and is something we love to do when we are spending time together. So with the autumn weather, game nights are definitely more frequent.
11. Add or change up your welcome mat
Many people have welcome mats or runners in their homes. So why not switch it out for a Fall or Halloween quote or design. This will bring that cozy feeling the moment you step into your home.

12. Decorate your space with dried flowers
Fresh flowers are always a beautiful benefit to the Spring and Summer and bring outdoors into your home. When it comes to Fall season, remember you can do the exact same. Dried flowers can create a more rustic and autumnal vibe. So, small bouquets, or even just a flower or two in a vase can add a beautiful touch with minimal effort.
13. Use draft excluders
Stopping your home from leaking heat through cracks or cold air coming through draughts will help you keep warm and cozy. In addition, it will save you money on your energy bills as well, which is so important right now.
The simple sausage-shaped cushion will enable you to keep your home warmer and cozy by keeping cold air from sneaking in. They also work perfectly on windowsills as well. Not only that, but there are many different colours and textures to choose from to add autumn pops of colour.
14. Swap or add artwork
Artwork is something that always creates a really homely touch. To bring the Fall and Halloween feeling, choose prints or artwork that uses autumnal colours and designs. You can check out sustainable prints that are super affordable.
15. Arrange an autumnal wreath
Autumn wreaths are ideal for indoors or out and can forge a lasting impression by hanging a beautiful seasonal wreath. It can be made from real autumn foliage, fabulous faux imitations or even soft fabrics. The colours and textures are bound to add a farmhouse-inspired touch to your home too.

These are all such great ideas. I love an Autumnal scent, something cinnamony is my fave! I love the idea of a seasonal doormat too! I’m going to keep a look out for something because we need a new one anyway. And I’m a big fan of an Autumnal wreath too! Although I’m annoyed at myself because I washed down our front door last week (something I very very rarely do) and managed to break the hanger we have for ours, so I need to go out and buy a new one of those too. Eeep! Fabulous post as always!
