2023 is so close and the thought of a brand new year is so exciting for me because it means a new planner setup/system to keep myself organized and productivity.
I have to feel organized and have all my plans and to-dos written down as that is what works for me. There are so many planners on the market that works for different planner styles. I have had multiple people ask me on Instagram about planners as I share my spreads and set ups on my feed.
So, I have compiled a list of the best planners (in my opinion) that are on the market, that you could try in 2023.
Let’s dive into these different planners for 2023:

1. The Happy Planner
This is a planner that I have used previously and I have come back to it. This planner is so versatile, you can pick from a variety of layouts that will suit your needs and preferences. If you like to have colourful spreads, these planners can be used in conjunction with their sticker books. So, if you want to have a creative planner, these stickers can help make your planner more colourful. This planner can be a great pick for you. In addition, you can change your covers the discs and can add personal pages. This planner is completely customizable at any time of the year.
2. Bullet Journals
Bullet journals have been around for a long time and is just consistently becoming more popular. I have been on and offer bullet journaling since 2017. Bullet journaling is a system created by Ryder Carroll but it has become more of a creative form of planning. There is also nothing wrong with being creative with it however, if you are not creative or do not want to be creative, this planner system can work for you. By researching the Ryder Carroll method, you can see it is a simple yet functional planner system, by using a bullet point system. I have used this system on and off, both more creative spreads and simple minimal designs. If you think this might be for you, here’s how to set up your bullet journal.
3. BusyB Planners
Planners from BusyB were my go-to when I took a break from The Happy Planner. Their perfect planners were a great pick, they have a month calendar and a weekly spread over 2 pages. Another style of planners are the BusyB Busy Life Planner and this planner is one my mum buys every year. It has a weekly spread over one page and the same on the other page. So my mum has a weekly spread for work life and one spread for home life. This style of planner can be beneficial if you have children and want to be able to see work and home life at a glance, these planners are for you. These planners comes with a sheet of stickers and are super affordable.
4. Filofax/Agendas
Okay, so I am relatively new to this style of planning, but I have been spending a lot of time on Instagram scrolling through the pictures and reels of flip throughs and set up videos. This style of planning is one form of my planner set up for 2023. You can choose the size of your agenda, colour and texture, the size of the rings and your layout. This form of planner can be an easy planner (smaller size) to carry around with you. If you want a simple planner where you can just pop in appointments, work shift and reminders. As it can be customizable you can tailor it to your favourite styles. You can also be creative with stickers, adding additional pages and agenda wallets. I am so excited to have an agenda in my planner set up for 2023.

5. Cath Kidston Undated Planner
This a planner that I shared in my Christmas gift guide for her and is perfect for people who only like to use a planner sometimes, it could be you only reach for your planner on a busy week. This is why this undated planner is a good pick. It means if you don’t use a planner everyday, this planner will last you a longer time. You will not waste money on a fully year printed planner. So undated planners can be a great choice if you don’t always stick to your schedule.
6. Erin Condren Planners
This is a planner I would like to try sometime, I love the tight coils and style. Like the Happy Planner you can tailor your Erin Condren Planner to the cover, the colour/metal type of coils, the layout and you can make the perfect planner and the aesthetics. These planners can be personalized which I love. The EC planners are more expensive, so you want to make sure you are going to fully utilise the planner to ensure you are not wasting your money.
7. A5 ‘Sort Your Life Out’ daily planner
If you don’t like the idea of a big planner, this pad might be for you. This pad is a daily planner and you can just reach for it on the days you want to plan. There are a variety of sections to be able to plan your day. It can be a simple way to plan and you can just tear off and start a new day. Again, this can be helpful for people who do not want to commit to a whole dated planner. This pad is not only super affordable and is best for people who don’t reach for planners daily.
8. Mäksēlife Planners
There are dated and undated Makselife planners that you can choose from. Like many planner brands you can choose your layout as well as customize other features of your planner. You can have daily, weekly or monthly planners to choose from depending on what you intend to use the planner for. I have watched a Youtuber called Cindy who regularly shares her weekly set up in this planner and it seems like a great planner similar to the Erin Condren planner. This planner is a bit more pricey and so it is important you are going to utilise the dated versions of this planner.
These are my top 8 planners that can be beneficial for different styles and needs of planners. If you are looking to be more organized in 2023, these are some great planners that you can try. There are so many other planners on the market, as well as digital planners. Sometimes, it can be a trial and error process to what planner system that fits your lifestyle and what makes you the most productive and organized.
I will be sharing my planner set up in an upcoming blog post, so look out for that.
What planner/s are you going to be using in 2023 to be organized? I’d love to hear in the comments.
Perfect timing as I feel I need to be more organised. I have a diary but on its own its not enough, so I’ve been exploring planners but there’s so much variety, I’m not sure where to start
Starting with a dated planner is always a great way to start. If you have any questions Dm me! Thank you for reading and commenting.
Thanks Lauren
After deciding againsta bullet journal, I now realise that’s kind of what I’ve created … or steps towards that. I’ve now looked into bullet journals and will be giving it a go. 😁
That’s awesome. I hope it works well for you in 2023.
I recently posted a planner roundup myself from small Etsy businesses. I got a dated one from The Paper Bunny. I find Bullet Journals fascinating but they are not for me, I would never keep up with them!
Happy Monday!

They aren’t for everyone. But it is great you have found a planner that works for you. Thank you for reading and commenting.
Oooh I love the idea of the Sort Your Life Out planner! I get overwhelmed quite easily with dated planners because I feel like there is this pressure to fill every single day in, so I think something more casual would work a lot better for me.
It is great you found a style of planner that would work for you. Thank you for reading and commenting.
Great post! I’ve tried a couple of random planners over the years as well as bullet journalling on and off. I’ve been thinking about getting one for 2023 but haven’t decided which one yet.
I hope this post gave you some ideas on what type of planner you would like. Thank you for reading and commenting.
Great list! It’s SO exciting getting a new planner and calendar for the New Year! I’ve already bought mine and can’t wait to use it. I’m a big fan of Papier planners – their designs are so beautiful x
Yes I already have The Jag notebook in my basket. I love the hardcover etc. Did you go with a Papier planner? Thank you for reading and commenting. X
Yay!!!!!!! I already bought myself a 2023 planner. It’s a reward for myself for publishing my first novel.
That’s awesome you have found your planner for 2023. Thank you for reading and commenting. Congratulations on your novel.
Just yesterday I was looking for a new 2023 planner online; nothing really seemed right so reading about these brands/versions was so timely and useful! I will have a look and see what I can find from your list.
I hope this post has been helpful and I hope you manage to find a planner that works for you from this list. Thank you for reading and commenting.
I can’t wait to be more organized next year! I already have a refillable planner from a brand called Cloth and Paper for next year as well as my planner from Amazon, but I’ve always wanted an Erin Condren or a Happy Planner!
Yes I have heard of Cloth and Paper! The happy planner is great and is on Amazon too! Thank you for reading and commenting.
Thank you for this list! 😀 I am trying to get my journaling started and this will help tremendously.
These are planners to get organised with your plans. I will have some great notebook suggestions for journaling soon. Thank you for reading and commenting.
I need planning ideas, too. 🤦🏽♀️
Great ideas for planners. Now that I’m doing journals, I’m going to look more into these suggestions. Thank you for sharing!
I hope you find some great planners or notebooks from these brands. Thank you for reading and commenting.
I like having an undated planner, so when I need to move tasks around it isn’t too much trouble.
That’s great you find undated planners are for you. Thank you for reading and commenting.
I love a New Year so I can start a new planner as well. I used to be a big Bullet Journal user, but now use a Boxclever Press day to a page planner so I can plan out my days in full.
I hope you have a great Christmas. Thank you for reading and commenting.
I use a planner in planning my day to day task. Thanks for sharing these great recommendations.
That’s awesome! Thank you for reading and commenting.
Oh I need to start looking for a new planner/diary for 2023, thank you for suggesting these brands! x

I hope you find one you love from this post. Thank you for reading and commenting.
We’re big fans of having a planner. Our favorite brand so far is Kate Spade.
I haven’t tried a Kate Spade one before. Thank you for reading and commenting.
I use to Love Happy Planners and was even worth the amount at one time. This year though I decided to go with two new planners. I have one for my personal use and one for my blogging use. They are both equally amazing and have a wonderful horizontal layout. One brand is Blue Sky and the other one is Simplified, both bought at Target.
That’s awesome you have found ones that worked for you. I have a blog post scheduled for January sharing my planner stack for 2023. Thank you for reading and commenting.
Thanks for sharing this. But I don’t think I’ve made up my mind on the planner I’d love to use next year.
I hope you manage to find one you like. Thank you for reading and commenting.
Thank you for sharing these suggestions 🙂 I never used to use a planner/diary, but now I live by it! I find it so helpful for keeping track of deadlines or notes I’ve made for myself in advance.
It is great you find using a planner helpful now. Thank you for reading and commenting.
So many amazing planners here! I am going to continue using my Dingbats bullet journal, and also a weekly planner x
Yes I will be using my dingbats bullet journal in my planner set up also. I have a big planner set up this year. Thank you for reading and commenting.
When I was younger, up until I was in College I used a basic dated calendar to organize everything I needed to get done! After I graduated, I switched over to the Bullet Journal. I think that a bullet journal works the best for the way I use it. I’m constantly adding in and removing layouts, depending on what’s going on in my life. I’ve been a huge fan of the minimalism art bullet journals! They’re super affordable, and have a good quality paper. Great post xx

It is great you found something that works well for you. I have several planners/systems in my 2023 set up and a bullet journal is one of them. Thank you for reading and commenting.
I absolutely love planners
Me too!
I say this every time but I seriously need to get more organised! I flit between wanting to use a handwritten planner and using digital for ease of access. Love the idea of bullet journals but never seem to keep up with it…maybe I just need to find a system that works!
Thanks for sharing all of these planners, I will have to check a few of them out!
Aimsy xoxo
I hope you find something that works for you soon. Thank you for reading and commenting.
I was always the ‘have to have’ planner person but over the last few years, I’ve had to move onto my google calendar and my planner stays empty. I haven’t boughy my busyb planner for 2023, I’m debating it daily. As I feel I should but perhaps I’m not ready to give up the physical planner yet. Help!
If you haven’t fully decided I wouldn’t buy it if you end up not writing in it. Or maybe use a notebook that might help until you decide. Thank you for reading and commenting.
I bought a happy planner and I am in love with it. I think it’s going to be perfect for my needs this year. Great round up of planners.
I hope you enjoy it. Thank you for reading and commenting.
I’ve tried Busy B planners before but I’ve not been very impressed… I also had a bullet journal for a bit, but I couldn’t be consistent with it so gave up pretty quickly. But the Sort Your Life Out planner looks so cute! I’m going to have to get it!! Thanks for sharing x
I am glad you found something that looks good to you! Thank you for reading and commenting.
These are great suggestions for planners! Even though I love the look of bullet journals and that you can make spreads on pretty much anything, I think an undated planner is best for me because I don’t need to use a planner every day or week, but having one for busy weeks would be handy.
It is great you know what will work for you. Thank you for reading and commenting.
This year I have decided to go for a digital planner but I am so tempted to go back to paper because i kinda miss it, so many options here!
Ooo I hope it helps and works for you. Thank you for reading and commenting.
I love planners! I’m working with The Happy Planner and a few bullet journals right now. I also have a Filofax I haven’t used in years that I want to get inserts for.
That’s awesome! Thank you for reading and commenting.
