I am so excited to start my new planner set up for 2023 and I am really shaking things up and adding more tools in my belt to help me be more organized and productive in 2023.
I actually haven’t been this excited to start a new year in a while I am feeling confident in the planner systems I have chosen. As well as being more organized, I am also going to be focused on my health.
Usually it is just a planner in my planner set up and a bullet journal system. However, 2023 I am adding a few other supplies to help keep me physically and mentally organized.
If you are looking to have a more organized year then definitely check our the best planners on the market. I hope my planner list can inspire you to plan the year you want. Let’s dive into my planner set up for 2023.

1. My Happy Planner
My Happy Planner continues until December 2023. I love using this planner in conjunction with the stickers. I will be using this planner at my desk and will contain mainly blogging work. This planner will not leave the house. The monthly spreads will be used for all areas of my life. As this planner is rather large it is easier to keep it at my desk.
With this planner I use the Happy Planner sticker books to keep my spreads looking creative.
2. My Filofax/Agenda
This is a new style of planner, size and layout for me. However, I have enjoyed spending time scrolling through on Instagram of other’s set ups and pictures. I have fallen in love with the style and aesthetics of this style of planning. I have decided on this style of planner as it is smaller and I can take it when I am on the go.
In this planner I will be keeping my appointments, reminders and events to keep me organized. In addition, I will be adding finance planner sheets and budgeting wallets, to stay organized with my money also.
3. Bullet journal
I love to use a bullet journal, but I am going to use my bullet journal a little differently than in previous years. It will act more as a brain dump. So whether it is a list of my PR contacts, blog post ideas, my favourite shows, quotes and much more. Just having a space to have all the miscellaneous things written. This is a different way of using a bullet journal, however it is all about trial and error and see how it works for me.
4. Journal
I will be daily journaling to enable me to be mentally organized. Daily life can sometimes be stressful and so I will be writing as part of daily routine. A way to clear my mind to feel more organized and productive. As well as daily journaling, I will be using journal prompts to give me focus and direction when I am struggling. I want to practise journaling consistently to improve my mental health.
It also brings me so much joy creative journaling, designing pages to share my thoughts.
5. To-do list pad
I am fortunate enough to have a variety of pads to choose from that I will use as little daily to-dos that I don’t want to overfill my planner with. I do work more productively when I write a good to do list. This pad/s will be an everyday supply, but I will certainly reach for it on busier days.
Believe me, I follow people or see people online and used to think why do you need so many planner supplies? But, actually I understand now why they needed different supplies to enable them to stay physically and mentally organized. My hope is that this planner system will work for me, but as I said previously it is all about trial and error to find what will work best for me. I will be doing a 6 month planner check in to see how it is working and what I may need to change for the second half of 2023.
I hope this post has given you some inspiration if you are looking to start a new or create a planner system to make you a more organized person. Follow my Instagram for more planner content.
What planner are you using for 2023? Do you use more than one planner? I’d love to hear in the comments.
I love new planners and notebooks for the new year! I have a new planner that I got from Tesco and it has everything I need in it. I’m trying to make better use of it this year as I always fall out of step with my planners!
That’s great! I hope you manage to utilise it this year. X
Thanks for sharing Lauren, it’s always interesting to hear how others plan using various different methods. I have a journal for just general thoughts and ramblings, then a diary/planner which is more for working towards my goals for the year and to do lists and then a diary that I take out with me to record appointments, mainly those outside the home. It’s the first year that I have used a separate diary that I carry in my bag, so far it is working well…
It is great you have found something that has worked and that you are trialing something new! I hope it continues to work for you. Thank you for reading and commenting.
It was great reading about the different planners you are using this year. That’s a good idea to have a planner for blogging work to keep at your desk and a seperate planner for appointments and reminders that you can bring with you. Also, that’s interesting you’ll be using a bullet journal as a brain dump and I’m curious what your thoughts will be once you’ve done that for a while.
I am seeing how this system will work and it’s all about trial and error but my bullet journal so far has been useful with certain trackers too.
I agree, it’s great to see what others are doing with planning etc, especially when I’m trying to find what works best for me. I’m working with 3 different books/diaries. I’ve a big notebook that I’m effectively using as a project planner so I can map out the bigger projects, marking deadlines etc. I have a diary that I’ll use for appointments, but also record submissions, incidental tasks etc that I know in advance. I’ve also turned a notebook into a bullet journal, but its being used for my daily working, priorities, to do lists, blog schedule etc but I also have a detailed breakdown of what I’m doing in a daily basis. So far it’s working and is easier than trying to carry around multiple notebooks. I’m reviewing regularly though to see how it’s working and I suspect I might need a new notebook every 6 weeks or so … or a bigger/thicker notebook 🤣
It is good you are seeing it working for you well. Trial and error is how you can find what will work for you. Thank you for reading and commenting.
I’m using two planners! One is a little monthly overview and the other is a weekly overview. I’m hoping to have a separate content calendar and personal life planner though. I also have a bullet journal specifically made for blog stuff-I write down statistics, make sure I check my blog email every day, and have a space for brain dumps there 🙂
It is great you have found a system that works well for you. Thank you for reading and commenting!
very detailed description of the planning process and tools. Well done Lauren xx
Thank you!
Great planning advice for 2023!

This is a great post, Lauren. I really need to be more organised and I feel this post popped up at the right time for me. I will be using your tips to keep everything in order going forward. Thanks for sharing. Jade MumLifeandMe
I hope this post does help you find some products that may work for you. Thank you for reading and commenting.
I have my Leuchtturm 1917 for my bullet journal, though I did start in December of last year. I bought another journal, thinking that I may move my collections over to it, but I have not done so, yet. I like it in my bujo.
Today, I thought, I need to have a place to put a list of all of my medical expenses and mileage for the year for next year’s taxes, so I made a spread. Funnily, I had that exact idea last year and had started an excel spreadsheet for it…. not sure which one I’ll lean on more. I may do both, since I’m not a big fan of math.
I used to use Leuchtturm1917 but I love Yop & Tom is a great dupe for Archer and Olive. I love white paper! I hope you find it useful for you. Do you have a blog?
I do love buying a new planner at the start of a new year! I don’t have multiple planners, but I do love to invest in one that has multiple purposes! x

It’s such a great feeling getting a new planner for the year!! I love a good to-do list and organizer. I would love to get a happy planner though!

Lovely post. I have a notebook for ideas and dumping stuff out, a larger notebook to expand on ideas for videos, shows, scripts, that sort of thing; a diary for appointments and a journal, which I find very useful for processing what goes on in my head. Over the lockdown I tried to do it digitally, but I just love to have a physical book in my hand and the freedom it gives, so for 2023 I am purely physical. Best wishes for this year!
Really interesting post! I’m currently just using a notebook but clearly need to up my game this year!

It is about what works for you. So just using a notebook if it works you don’t need to change it. Thank you for reading and commenting.
I always like to see what you do with your planners, etc and how you use them. I am still finding my way with what I want to use mine for so this was helpful!
Aww thank you! Well you can also check my Instagram where I share it too. Thank you for reading and commenting.
This is cool planner and I like the morning. night on it. I’m using digital planner and it’s different from this. But I still have the to do list and other things in another style.
To stay organized with our blog, we use our Google calendar. For everything else, we have a Kate Spade 2023 planner!
That’s great you have a planning system that works for you! Thank you for reading and commenting.
There is something about starting a brand new planner. I currently use digital planner on my iPad and I love it. I use my planner along with a wellness journal that’s also digital.
I haven’t tried a digital planner other than my iPhone calendar. But I might try something on my iPad as well. Thank you for reading and commenting.
Sounds like you’re very organised! I like the idea of having a separate notebook for a brain dump, as well, since I always so many thoughts about so many things. I’m using a planner that has a separate section for to-do, lists and things like that. I love it!
It is great you found something that works for you. Thank you for reading and commenting.
It sounds like you’ve got a great system in place for 2023! I’m currently trying something new too and like you mentioned, it’s all about trial and error. Thank you for sharing!
Yes, just trying different things you are bound to find something that works. I hope you find your ideal system. Thank you for reading and commenting.
I am using a Hobonichi Cousin A5 for the first time for planning and journaling. I also have a Bloom Daily Planner for work. I am using a bullet journal for a faith journal. I have been in my hobonichi since the start of January and am really getting into my groove. I really like it ALOT.
I am going to look into Hobonichi planner and give it a go!
I hope you will do your best towards the new planner of 2023, that’s you will achieve the all above goals that were mentioned.
Thank you for reading and commenting. Can you link your blog?
This year I decided to not have a bullet journal – it was taking me too much time last year and I didn’t really benefit from having one. I have a plain notebook this year in which I write the info I need as I go (expenses, important meetings/goals, etc.) On a daily basis, I use a to-do list just like you!
Thank you for sharing how you get organised!

Starting new and buying notebooks and planners are so much fun. I love sitting down, lighting a candle, and just planning the year and setting goals. Journals are also a great way to set a good mindset and focus. I have to-do list pads too, when my planners just don’t hit.

I love planners & notebooks to stay organized & keep up with my to do lists. There’s something creative about using fun pens and highlighters as well. It sets good intentions and keeps my manifestations flowing. Great read!
Thank you for reading and commenting.
Ahh the look of fresh planners and journals in a new year are honestly such a vibe! I’m using a planner that also has a to do list section!
I love it! That’s great. I hope it works well for you this year. Thank you for reading and commenting.
You have so many notebooks you are going to use this year! I have stuck to bullet journaling, but I also use my digital calendar, notion, and I have a digital reading journal as well this year. It’s fun to mix all different forms of media to keep me and my mind organized. Happy 2023! xxx
