I don’t know about you, but I am really looking forward to Spring this year. Here in the UK the Winter has been brutal and the wind has made it incredibly cold. So, I can’t wait for some warmer weather.
Living in the UK the weather can be unpredictable in any season and it can be difficult to know what to wear. I find that having the basic staples in your wardrobe can help you build a perfect Spring outfit.
So, whether you are starting from scratch or just simply want to update your basics, these are 6 Spring staples everyone should have in their wardrobe.
1. A good pair of jeans
One reliable and popular outfit throughout the year is shirt and jeans combination. Jeans are not only super versatile where you can dress them up or down depending on the occasion, but they are also much warmer than other trousers for colder days. Straight leg jeans from Lands’ End are the perfect choice for your Spring wardrobe. They are a brand that places a lot of emphasis on comfort, they use softer fabrics to create a comfortable fit and wear every time. They have a variety of jean styles to suit all preferences. Lands’ End straight leg jeans are super affordable and available in a variety fits and colours. They are a brand that is committed to reducing their impact on the planet, making their buildings and products as sustainable as possible. So you know you are buying not only good quality jeans but you are making a positive choice for sustainable fashion.

2. Short Sleeve White T-Shirt
A classic white t-shirt can be an essential for all year around and not just Spring. You can pair a white tee with jeans, smarter trousers, but on warmer days without a jacket. Plus a white t-shirt brings that clean look especially if you are styling a statement trouser or blazer.
3. Jumper Or Cardigan
A lightweight jumper or a cardigan can be ideal for cooler mornings and evenings. I always feel the cold so I have plenty of jumpers and a cardigan to pick from. The styling possibilities are endless, styling it with a white tee and your favourite jeans to pairing it with a dress or even shorts.
4. Blouses Or Shirts
One timeless look at anytime of the year is a statement blouse or shirt and jeans. You can keep it super simple with a white button down, a floral or smock blouse. However, you could even just pair a bodysuit with your favourite jeans to keep it more casual. It is an outfit that can be worn in a casual or more smarter setting. I love to style shirts with jeans, a jacket and white trainers, keeping it super comfortable.
5. A Lightweight Jacket
Unfortunately, Spring can bring its colder or rainy days, so ensuring you have a lightweight jacket is a must. There are a variety of jackets that would work including: trench coat, denim jacket, a shacket or a light rain jacket. Therefore, it truly depends on the style trend you prefer and your local weather, I think one of the most versatile is the trench coat. It can look good over leggings, denim or even dresses and jumpsuits. I have a denim jacket, a coatigan and a shacket that I like to have on rotation throughout the year.

6. White Trainers
Trainers are always my go-to for footwear, they are comfortable and depending on the style can really make an outfit. In the Spring and Summer you cannot go wrong with white trainers. I have my white converses that I love to wear on warmer days and I am on the hunt for some new white Nike Airforce 1s. You get the fresh clean look of the white trainers and that would style well with jeans, leggings, dresses and even shorts. So, they are a functional staple for your Spring wardrobe.
There are a lot more staples that I could have included in this post such as:
1. Joggers
2. Dresses
3. Jumpsuits
4. Midi skirts
5. Sandals
6. Neutral coloured bags
7. Biker shorts
8. Blazers
Once you have your basics you can build up the rest of your wardrobe, creating your own unique style.
What Spring staples do you have in your wardrobe? I’d love to hear in the comments.
A gilet, for those cold enough for a bit extra but too warm for a coat days.

That’s great. Thank you for reading and commenting.
I recently bought myself a fleecey jumper and it has been such a great addition to my wardrobe- so I completely agree with jumpers and cardigans! Sometimes you just need a bit of warmth, without a heavy coat. Thank you for sharing x
That’s awesome. Thank you for reading and commenting.
Love blue jeans – you are right they can be dressed up or down!

This post has me super excited for my spring wardrobe. I love a good t-shirt and jeans. They’re so easy to style and very comfortable to wear!
Definitely! Thank you for reading and commenting.
I absolutely can’t wait for Spring! I love Spring fashion and not having to wear too many chunky layers anymore x
Yeah I am looking forward for a bit of warmer weather. Thank you for reading and commenting.
Such an inspiring post to start clearing the wardrobe for that springtime fashion! I always like to layer up too and so love the idea of cardigan and shirt combos with a good pair of jeans

I am living in my jeans, t-shirts, and jumpers/cardigans right now, it’s so cold! Other Spring staples are my velvet blazer and metallic gold Converse – they go with just about everything 🙂
Ooo they sound great pieces! It is definitely too cold to only wear T-shirts. Thank you for reading and commenting.
There’s far too much white in this for me. Black is my happy colour, so if it’s not black, I’m probably not going to buy it, let alone wear it. I really do need to find some spring and summer appropriate black clothes though. It’s been on my to-do list for a while, but options are limited as high street fashion are all pastels, earth colours, or bright colours. Won’t someone please think of the metalhead goths?
I like to wear black anytime of year too, so a black T-shirt will be a good pick! Thank you for reading and commenting.
Jeans….. absolute must even if I do hate shopping for them 🤣 and yes a lighter coat is a god send.
Thank you for reading and commenting.
White jeans are actually a staple for me for spring. I love pairing them with pastel coloured tops.
That’s great! Thank you for reading and commenting.
Thanks for sharing! I haven’t checked out denim from Lands End – will def have a look!
Definitely check the Lands End jeans!
I am definitely looking forward to spring and the warmer weather! These are great suggestions for staples to have, and I especially love jumpers and jackets are a must on colder spring days. I don’t have white trainers because I feel like they would get so dirty with the rain and mud, but I do have black ones.
Yeah jumpers I love to wear on the colder days too. Thank you for reading and commenting Karalee x
