What I love about blogging

I came across a post by Jay over on his blog where he wrote about what he loves about his blog. It made me think about what I love about my blog and what I love about blogging. Jay encouraged me to share my loves, I thought it would make such a positive post and highlight some the positive aspects from my view to potential new bloggers.

Meeting new people

The blogging community is such a welcoming community. Twitter is such a great tool for meeting new people and bloggers. The other bloggers will share and post about your blog posts, check up on you when you are not well or feeling down. People I met have been so supportive of my blog. I have made some lovely friends since I started blogging and I am very grateful for them.

Reading more

Since I start blogging, I have read more. There are so many bloggers out there with interesting content. I enjoy reading books, but I also like the freedom of picking up my phone and reading blog posts on the go. Not only is it great to get inspiration and motivation but it supports bloggers when reading and leaving comments.

Being creative

Ever since I was a child I loved colouring, drawing and writing. I was the child that would pick all the stationery products and sets out of the Argos catalogue for Santa to bring me haha. I love that my blog allows me to be creative, with writing and taking photographs.

Stationery

If you follow my blog or any social media you will know that I love stationery ever since I was a young child. So I never really need an excuse to buy stationery, however blogging does give me another reason to buy pretty notebooks, planners and pretty coloured pens. It is a great way to stay organised also.

Opportunity

I have been incredibly fortunate to work with some amazing brands. I love that in this society now blogging can be a career and it can open up so many opportunities. There are so many bloggers who are hugely successful, it is inspiring and motivating to know that you can take your blog wherever you want it to go.

There are a few things I love about blogging, what do you love about blogging or your blog? I’d to love to hear in the comments.

  1. The reasons I love blogging are the same with yours! I love blogging because it gives me the opportunity to meet new people from all walks of life and different parts of the world.

I also like it because it has made me an avid reader, like you, and it has made me loooove writing so much.

  2. I really love this post Lauren! It’s amazing how many good things come with blogging when we think about it 🙂 Connecting with like-minded people has been a huge positive for me, I am forever grateful that I discovered your blog and we became friends, it’s awesome to find someone who loves stationery as much as I do! I also love reading blogs when I have a spare five minutes, I have found with blogging that I am never bored, there is always something to do, ha ha. Thank you for sharing lovely, this is such an uplifting post and a great reminder of how fantastic blogging is. PS. Love your photo, so much pretty stationery!! ❤ xxxx

  3. I love reading posts about why others love blogging! I read Jay’s the other day and, between the two of you, you’ve managed to highlight several reasons why I love blogging and the community in general, too. The creative outlet one is one that I especially agree with, and why I decided to blog in the first place. I love meeting new people, too; I’ve met more people through blogging than I ever had in real life! It’s crazy the amount of people you can connect through just by blogging.

  4. Couldn’t agree more with your list! I definitely didn’t need an excuse to buy more stationery, but I’ll use blogging as one anyway. I think that, and the creative side, are my top two, but the other things are wonderful as well.

  5. Yes, yes, yes, I agree with all of these! When I started blogging, I had no idea what a lovely supportive community I was joining, nor what a fascinating range of blogs I’d end up reading. Blogging is so creative and some of the opportunities I’ve had since I started have just been amazing. Admittedly, sometimes I struggle to fit everything in but it’s been such a release and joy that I can’t imagine my life without blogging now. Lovely post, Lauren, thank you for sharing! xx

  6. What a positive and motivating post! I totally agree with you, there are so many wonderful things about blogging and I definitely think that the community is the best part. I really didn’t think it would be the way it is – I love that there are people always there for me, some I’ve never even met, but they are still always cheering me on. I also agree with the creative part, I’ve never felt very creative but blogging has definitely given me a chance to change that!

  7. Yes! I agree with all of this! The community aspect was a bit of a surprise to me when I started my blog as I didn’t realise it was there! It is interesting too that one of my aims is to read more when I am actually reading all of the time. Just not books like I used to. I also love that there is always something to do to be and feel creative. Having said that, I didn’t realise that there was so much too blogging! That in itself is also a positive as I have learned so much through the requirements of running a website

    Great post!
